Reiki in Everyday Life
“Your Reiki Power is like an aura, it’s a glow, and you are radiating out…no darkness can penetrate you”
— Hawayo Takata
A lot of people think that Reiki is mostly about doing healing sessions and hands-on practice. But to me, it is so much more than that. I use Reiki in my everyday routine to help restore balance when I am feeling stressed or anxious.
Sometimes it’s not always easy for me to get into the swing of things in the morning. But I do my best to be grateful for the things that are in my life, even the smallest ones. I like to ground myself with Reiki by placing one hand on my heart and the other on my stomach (the solar plexus). I take a few deep breaths and let the beautiful Reiki energy flow through me while I set an intention for the day.
Infusing Reiki into my water and food is something that I have been doing a lot lately. It is such a simple way to integrate the Universal life energy and boost nourishment. All I do is place my hands around or above my meal or drink, then take a few moments to connect with Reiki energy and set a positive intention. I also use a few symbols if I am called to. There is no wrong way to do this; I just do what feels right to me.
Sometimes there is tension or a difficult conversation that comes up in everyday relationships with family, friends or even partners. When something like that comes up for me. I like to visualize Reiki symbols and send Reiki to the situation that I am dealing with. This helps me set clear but compassionate boundaries, which to me are very important.
Our environment holds a lot of energy. Some of it can be uplifting, and some can be stagnant or heavy. When I do client or self-healing sessions, I love to use Reiki to clean the space and protect the energy. I do it especially when I do not have the time to properly sage or use sprays, which some people and animals can be sensitive to. Reiki symbols can bless, clear and protect any space that you are in. This way, I can create a sacred and supportive healing space.
